Dendritic cell + cytokine-induced killer cell therapy + MUC1 peptide is an experimental autologous cellular immunotherapy. The treatment process involves harvesting patient-derived dendritic cells (DCs) and loading them with MUC1 (Mucin-1) peptide antigens. These antigen-loaded DCs are then co-cultured with cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells to prime and activate them against tumor cells expressing the MUC1 antigen. This combined cell population is then re-infused into the patient to generate a targeted immune response. Developed by the Cancer Institute of People's Liberation Army and Third Military Medical University Xinqiao Hospital, it is primarily investigated for the treatment of middle or terminal stage non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), often in combination with radiotherapy to enhance clinical efficacy.
