This therapy is a combination cancer vaccine composed of autologous dendritic cells loaded with tumor-specific idiotype protein and keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) as an immunological adjuvant. Dendritic cells are potent antigen-presenting cells that can be isolated from the patient, then pulsed ex vivo with tumor antigens (such as the idiotype protein unique to a patient's B-cell malignancy) and KLH to enhance immune activation. Upon re-infusion into the patient, these primed dendritic cells stimulate T-cell mediated immune responses against cancer cells expressing the target idiotype. The addition of KLH serves as an adjuvant to further boost immunogenicity and promote robust anti-tumor immunity. This approach is primarily investigated for hematologic cancers such as lymphoma and multiple myeloma, but may also be explored in other malignancies[1][2][3][5][6].
