An autologous dendritic cell-based cancer vaccine in which a patient's own dendritic cells are harvested and pulsed or transduced with melanoma-associated antigens gp100 and MART-1 (Melan-A). The modified dendritic cells present these antigens to the immune system, aiming to stimulate both CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocytes and CD4+ helper T cells specific for the tumor antigens. This approach is designed to induce an adaptive immune response against melanoma cells expressing gp100 and MART-1. The primary indication is metastatic melanoma. Clinical studies have shown that this therapy can activate both helper and killer T-cell responses in vivo[2][5]. The mechanism of action involves enhanced antigen presentation by mature autologous dendritic cells leading to targeted anti-tumor immunity[2][3][5].
