Overview

This is an investigational autologous dendritic cell-based immunotherapy vaccine developed by the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) for the treatment of locally advanced unresectable pancreatic adenocarcinoma. The therapy involves generating autologous dendritic cells (DCs) from a patient's peripheral blood and pulsing them with three specific HLA-A2-restricted tumor-associated peptide antigens: human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT, TERT572Y), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA; Cap1-6D), and survivin (SRV.A2). The vaccine is administered via intradermal or intratumoral injection in combination with Poly-ICLC (Hiltonol), a toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) agonist that serves as an immune adjuvant. The goal of the therapy is to induce tumor-specific T cell responses against pancreatic cancer cells expressing these antigens.
