Hybrid cells created by fusing **dendritic cells** (often from a donor or autologous source) with **leukemic cells** (typically blasts from a leukemia patient), resulting in cellular constructs that express both antigen-presenting (dendritic) and tumor-associated (leukemia) markers. These hybrids are designed to present leukemia-specific antigens within both MHC class I and II contexts, thereby stimulating both CD8+ and CD4+ T cell responses and inducing cytotoxic anti-leukemic immunity. The mechanism leverages improved antigen presentation and immune activation to generate tumor-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), and is being explored as a cellular vaccine or immunotherapy for patients with acute myeloid leukemia and other hematologic malignancies, particularly in relapse after allogeneic stem cell transplantation[1][2][3][5].
