Overview

**Dendrobin A** is a natural small molecule alkaloid isolated from *Dendrobium nobile*, a traditional medicinal orchid used in Chinese medicine. It is considered a key pharmacologically active ingredient of *D. nobile*. Recent experimental research has shown that Dendrobin A possesses anti-tumor properties, notably inhibiting proliferation, migration, and invasion of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) cells by targeting multiple mechanisms at the molecular level. In particular, it suppresses the activity of the urokinase-type plasminogen activator (PLAU), which is implicated in tumor progression and poor prognosis in PDAC. Dendrobin A induces cell cycle arrest (at G2/M phase) and promotes apoptosis in cancer cells. Broader data suggest that Dendrobin A may act through a range of targets and signaling pathways, consistent with the polypharmacological profile common to natural product alkaloids[1][7].
