Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dendrobium fimbriatum Hook plant-derived exosome-like nanovesicles (DF-PDENs) are plant-derived exosome-like nanovesicles isolated from the stems of the traditional Chinese medicinal herb *Dendrobium fimbriatum* Hook. These biocompatible nanovesicles exhibit immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties. In preclinical studies, DF-PDENs have demonstrated the ability to suppress inflammatory responses in human keratinocyte models stimulated with TNF-α and IL-17, as well as in murine T-cell models stimulated with IL-17 and IFN-γ, by reducing the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and IL-8. DF-PDENs are being investigated as a potential novel nanotherapeutic for the treatment of chronic immune-mediated skin disorders, such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.
