Overview

This combination refers to the concomitant administration of a live-attenuated tetravalent dengue vaccine and a trivalent measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine. The dengue component, such as Takeda's TAK-003 (Qdenga) or Sanofi's CYD-TDV (Dengvaxia), is designed to provide broad protection against all four dengue virus serotypes (DENV-1, -2, -3, and -4). TAK-003 specifically utilizes a dengue serotype 2 genetic backbone to express surface antigens for all four serotypes. The MMR component is a standard trivalent vaccine containing attenuated strains of measles, mumps, and rubella viruses. Clinical studies, such as Takeda's DEN-305 trial, have evaluated the safety and immunogenicity of co-administering these vaccines to facilitate integrated pediatric immunization schedules in dengue-endemic regions, ensuring that simultaneous delivery does not result in significant immune interference.
