Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DENV-1 PIV is a monovalent, purified-inactivated vaccine against dengue virus serotype-1. It is adjuvanted with aluminum hydroxide (alum) to enhance immune response. The vaccine has been tested in Phase 1 clinical trials where it demonstrated an acceptable safety profile with minimal injection site and systemic reactions. By study day 42 (two weeks following the second vaccine dose), all volunteers in clinical trials developed serum-neutralizing antibodies against DENV-1. The vaccine is administered as two intramuscular injections on days 0 and 28.
