Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a multi-agent combination regimen consisting of **denileukin diftitox**, **cyclophosphamide**, **doxorubicin**, **vincristine**, and **prednisone**. Denileukin diftitox is an interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2R)-targeted recombinant fusion protein combining diphtheria toxin and human interleukin-2, specifically delivering the toxin to IL-2R-expressing cells, leading to inhibition of protein synthesis and cell death. Cyclophosphamide is an alkylating agent that crosslinks DNA, leading to apoptosis. Doxorubicin is an anthracycline antibiotic which intercalates DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II, causing DNA damage. Vincristine is a vinca alkaloid that disrupts microtubule formation, arresting cell division. Prednisone is a synthetic glucocorticoid with anti-inflammatory and cytotoxic effects on lymphoid tissue. This combination has been studied for peripheral T-cell lymphoma and cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, mainly to increase efficacy in advanced or refractory cases by combining immunotoxin-targeted therapy with cytotoxic chemotherapy[2].
