Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DenosuRel is a biosimilar of denosumab, developed and manufactured by Reliance Life Sciences. It is a human IgG2 monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits the receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand (RANKL), a protein essential for the formation, function, and survival of osteoclasts. By blocking the interaction between RANKL and its receptor RANK on the surface of osteoclasts and their precursors, DenosuRel reduces bone resorption and increases bone mineral density. The drug is administered subcutaneously and is available in different strengths, including a 120mg dose (marketed as DenosuRel) and a 60mg dose (marketed as DenOsteoRel). It is indicated for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis, bone loss due to hormonal therapy or steroids, and the prevention of skeletal-related events in patients with bone metastases from solid tumors and multiple myeloma.
