Denutraxan

Denutraxan is a topical emulsion formulation of pramocaine hydrochloride (also known as pramoxine hydrochloride) developed by ISDIN, S.A. It is a local anesthetic that functions by blocking voltage-gated sodium channels in sensory nerve endings within the skin, thereby inhibiting the conduction of nerve impulses and reducing sensations of pain and pruritus. Denutraxan is specifically being investigated for the relief of itch associated with atopic dermatitis, particularly in pediatric populations. It has undergone Phase 3 clinical evaluation in Spain, utilizing child-specific visual analog scales to assess efficacy and tolerability. As a non-steroidal and non-immunosuppressive topical treatment, it aims to address the symptomatic burden of pruritus in inflammatory skin conditions.
