Overview

DENV-4-LVHC (Dengue-4-Virus-Live Virus Human Challenge) is a weakened form of an experimental dengue virus serotype 4 (DENV-4) strain, specifically H-241, utilized in human challenge studies. Its primary purpose is to safely induce a controlled, mild-to-moderate dengue infection in healthy adult volunteers. This model serves as a critical tool in the development and evaluation of dengue vaccines and therapeutics, allowing researchers to assess the safety, optimal dose, and protective efficacy of investigational products against dengue fever. The challenge virus aims to elicit symptoms consistent with self-limited dengue, enabling the study of viral-host immunology in a controlled setting.
