Overview

BTM101 is a deoxycholic acid injection developed by BioJeTay for the treatment of moderate to severe submental fat (double chin) in adults. As a synthetic version of a naturally occurring bile acid, it acts as an adipocytolytic agent that physically disrupts the cell membrane of adipocytes upon local injection. This disruption causes the destruction of fat cells, which are then cleared through natural metabolic processes. BTM101 is currently in Phase 3 clinical development in China, positioned as a generic alternative to the reference drug Kybella.
