Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DEP-HER2-DFO-89Zr (also known as DEP-HER2-zirconium) is a preclinical-stage, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-targeted radiodiagnostic agent developed by Starpharma. It utilizes Starpharma's proprietary Dendrimer-Enhanced Product (DEP) platform, consisting of a generation 4 polylysine dendrimer conjugated to a HER2-targeting single-domain antibody (VHH/nanobody) and 16 deferoxamine (DFO) chelation groups radiolabeled with zirconium-89 (89Zr). Designed for positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) imaging, DEP-HER2-DFO-89Zr exhibits rapid tumor accumulation, sustained retention, and fast clearance from vascular circulation, offering superior tumor-to-background contrast compared to traditional antibody-based radiodiagnostics like radiolabeled trastuzumab.
