Overview

Depemokimab is an investigational **humanized anti-interleukin-5 monoclonal antibody** developed by **GSK** for eosinophil-driven type 2 inflammatory diseases. It is designed as an **ultra-long-acting IL-5 inhibitor** with high binding affinity, potency, and an extended half-life intended to support **once-every-6-month subcutaneous dosing**. In phase 3 severe asthma studies (SWIFT-1 and SWIFT-2), depemokimab 100 mg given subcutaneously at weeks 0 and 26 reduced annualized clinically significant exacerbations versus placebo in adults and adolescents with severe uncontrolled asthma and an eosinophilic phenotype. The program is also being developed in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis, hypereosinophilic syndrome, and COPD, with additional extension and switch studies ongoing. As of the provided materials, depemokimab was not yet approved in any country.
