Depigmented polymerized Parietaria judaica pollen extract is a chemically modified allergen extract (allergoid) developed and manufactured by Laboratorios LETI S.L. (LETI Pharma). It is produced by depigmenting Parietaria judaica pollen extract via controlled acid treatment to remove adsorbed pigments, followed by polymerization with glutaraldehyde. This chemical modification reduces the allergen's IgE-binding capacity (allergenicity) while preserving its immunogenicity, allowing for safer and more rapid updosing during immunotherapy. The extract is adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide and administered via subcutaneous injection (SCIT). It is marketed under the brand name Depigoid® and is indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinoconjunctivitis and allergic asthma caused by hypersensitivity to Parietaria judaica pollen, a major source of seasonal respiratory allergies in the Mediterranean region.
