Depigoid Birch is a subcutaneous immunotherapy product consisting of a modified (depigmented and glutaraldehyde-polymerized) allergenic extract from Betula alba (birch) pollen. It is designed for the treatment of IgE-mediated allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis and rhinoconjunctivitis caused by sensitization to birch pollen. The modification process reduces the risk of severe allergic reactions while maintaining immunogenicity. Its mechanism involves immunomodulation—specifically inducing immune tolerance to the relevant allergens through repeated controlled exposure, leading to changes in specific IgE and IgG antibody profiles and modulation of T-cell responses[1][2][6].
