Overview

Dermacell is a technologically advanced human acellular dermal matrix (hADM) allograft derived from donated human skin tissue. It is processed using Matracell, a proprietary decellularization technology developed by LifeNet Health that removes at least 97% of donor DNA while preserving the native collagen, elastin, and growth factors essential for tissue regeneration. The product is terminally sterilized to a sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10^-6 via gamma irradiation and does not require refrigeration or rehydration prior to use. Dermacell serves as a scaffold for cellular infiltration and revascularization when implanted into wounds or surgical sites. It is indicated for the replacement of damaged skin in chronic non-healing wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, dehisced surgical wounds, traumatic burns, and can also be used in reconstructive surgery including post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. Over time it integrates with host tissue and is replaced by functional native tissue[1][2][3][5][8][9].
