It is commonly utilized for patients with skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, urticaria, or pruritus ani/vulvae where standard moisturizers are insufficient. The therapeutic effect is mediated through the activation of Transient Receptor Potential Melastatin 8 (TRPM8) receptors located on sensory neurons in the skin.
