Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dermadexin is a patent-protected topical barrier-repair cream containing the active ingredient P3GCM, a biolipid–niacin complex designed to alleviate symptoms of inflammatory skin conditions such as seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, and facial dermatitis. It works through dual mechanisms of action by restoring the skin barrier function to prevent microbial invasion and reducing irritation, redness, scaling, and itching without the risks associated with topical steroids. Approved as a Class III medical device in the European Union in 2014, it was developed by Astion Pharma and acquired by Cipher Pharmaceuticals, with a 510(k) submission accepted by the FDA in 2015 targeting seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp, face, and torso.[4][7][8][10][12][18]
