Overview

Dermagen is a tissue-engineered dermal replacement designed to facilitate the healing of diabetic foot ulcers. It is composed of a sponge made from collagen and glycosaminoglycans (chondroitins 4 and 6 sulphate), which is reticulated by ionic bonds with chitosan before freeze-drying. This product is non-toxic, biocompatible, and biodegradable due to its non-chemical reticulation process. It is further cellularized by functional allogenic fibroblasts. Developed by Laboratoires Genévrier, Dermagen aims to provide a scaffold and cellular components to promote tissue regeneration and improve healing rates in diabetic foot ulcers.
