Drug intelligence / Profile preview
DermaLastyl is a topical cosmeceutical formulation containing recombinant human tropoelastin, the precursor protein to elastin. Developed by DermaPlus, the product aims to address the loss of skin elasticity associated with aging and UV exposure. The active ingredient, branded as Elastatropin, is produced via recombinant DNA technology to be chemically identical to the tropoelastin naturally found in human skin. The mechanism of action involves the topical delivery of these proteins into the dermis, where they are intended to integrate into the extracellular matrix and undergo cross-linking to form functional elastin fibers. This process helps to restore the structural framework of the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and improving overall skin firmness.
