Overview
DERMASEAL is an investigational topical advanced wound-care dressing comprising a human plasma-derived fibrin film containing metallic silver microparticles. It is being developed as a combination biologic/device product for local management of chronic non-healing neuropathic diabetic foot ulcers and split-thickness skin-graft donor-site wounds. The fibrin film is intended to provide a wound-covering matrix, while the silver-containing component is intended to provide local antimicrobial activity. A Phase 1 diabetic-foot-ulcer study evaluated topical DERMASEAL plus standard of care, and a separate randomized study evaluated the dressing for skin-graft donor-site wounds.
