Dermatop Basecreme

Dermatop Basecreme is the vehicle (base) cream formulation for the Dermatop product line, which typically contains the active pharmaceutical ingredient prednicarbate, a nonhalogenated corticosteroid. As a standalone product, Dermatop Basecreme does not contain an active pharmaceutical ingredient and is primarily used as an emollient or as a placebo/comparator in clinical research. In a Phase 2 imaging study conducted by the Technical University Dresden, it was utilized as a comparator to assess epidermal and dermal thickness changes in patients with atopic dermatitis using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and 20-MHz ultrasound. It is designed to provide skin hydration and barrier support while being chemically compatible with prednicarbate.
