Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dermatophagoides farinae mannan-conjugated polymerized allergoid is a next-generation allergen immunotherapy (AIT) developed by Inmunotek. It consists of allergoids—allergens chemically modified and polymerized with glutaraldehyde to reduce IgE-mediated allergenicity while preserving T-cell immunogenicity—conjugated to mannan derived from *Saccharomyces cerevisiae*. This mannan conjugation specifically targets the mannose receptor (CD206) on dendritic cells (DCs), facilitating efficient allergen uptake and processing. This targeted delivery promotes a shift in the immune response from a Th2-mediated allergic profile toward a Th1 and regulatory T-cell (Treg) response, thereby inducing clinical tolerance. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, and controlled allergic asthma in patients sensitized to the house dust mite *Dermatophagoides farinae*.
