Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus antigen-antibody complexes are laboratory-prepared immune complexes formed by combining purified allergens from the house dust mite *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* with an excess of autologous specific antibodies (typically IgG or IgE) derived from allergic patients. These complexes have been investigated as a therapeutic intervention for patients with chronic bronchial asthma who are hypersensitive to *D. pteronyssinus*. The proposed mechanism involves intradermal inoculation of these pre-formed immune complexes, which leads to a marked reduction in clinical symptoms and medication use in allergic individuals. The treatment is associated with decreased specific skin and bronchial reactivity and significant reductions in serum levels of allergen-specific IgE antibodies, suggesting modulation of the allergic response distinct from conventional hyposensitization (allergen immunotherapy). No systemic side effects were observed in clinical studies; only mild local reactions occurred at injection sites[1]. This approach is experimental and not widely used or approved as standard therapy.
