Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus sublingual film is a biologic allergen immunotherapy (AIT) product developed by Zhejiang Wolwo Bio-Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. for the treatment of dust mite-induced allergic rhinitis. The drug consists of a standardized allergen extract from the house dust mite *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* formulated as a sublingual film designed to dissolve under the tongue. Its mechanism of action involves desensitizing the patient's immune system through regular exposure to the allergen, which induces peripheral immune tolerance. This process typically involves a shift in the T-cell response from a Th2-mediated allergic reaction to a Th1/Treg-mediated tolerant state, accompanied by the production of allergen-specific IgG4 antibodies. Currently in Phase II clinical development in China, this formulation aims to provide a more convenient and compliant alternative to traditional subcutaneous injections or liquid sublingual drops.
