Overview
DermaWound Original Formula is an over-the-counter (OTC) topical wound care ointment developed and marketed by DermaWound Products (Progressive Doctors, LLC). The formulation contains 10% povidone-iodine USP as the active ingredient, combined with a proprietary blend of sucrose (poly-saccharide) and calcium carbonate (poly-mineral). It is indicated for the treatment of various skin wounds, including pressure sores, diabetic ulcers, and surgical wounds. The product is designed to provide broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against pathogens such as MRSA, VRE, and Pseudomonas, while its auto-debriding properties help remove necrotic tissue. Additionally, it aims to reduce inflammation, provide pain relief, and promote healing with minimal scarring.
