Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dermidex is a brand of topical dermatological treatments developed and marketed by Drug International Ltd. The brand encompasses at least two distinct formulations: a corticosteroid version containing 0.025% fluocinolone acetonide and an antifungal version containing miconazole nitrate. The fluocinolone acetonide formulation is a small molecule glucocorticoid receptor agonist used to treat a wide range of inflammatory, pruritic, and allergic skin disorders, such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, lichen planus, and discoid lupus erythematosus. It works by suppressing the inflammatory response and inhibiting prostaglandin production. The miconazole nitrate formulation is indicated for the treatment of fungal skin infections. Both versions are available as topical creams or ointments for dermatological application.
