Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dermobacter is a topical antiseptic solution developed by INNOTHERA and marketed through Laboratoire Innotech International. It is a combination product containing two active small molecule ingredients: chlorhexidine digluconate (0.2%) and benzalkonium chloride (0.5%). Both components are quaternary ammonium-related antiseptics that provide broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as antifungal activity against *Candida albicans*. The mechanism of action involves the disruption of microbial cell membranes, leading to rapid cell death within one minute of contact. It is indicated for cleansing wounds and as an adjunctive treatment for infections of the skin and mucous membranes that are primarily bacterial or susceptible to superinfection.
