Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dermodex is an over-the-counter (OTC) consumer health product, primarily marketed in Brazil. It was part of a portfolio of OTC medicines originally owned by Bristol Myers Squibb. In a strategic move to divest non-core assets and focus on its biopharma pipeline, Bristol Myers Squibb granted Reckitt Benckiser exclusive sales, distribution, and marketing rights for Dermodex and other products in Latin America, particularly Mexico and Brazil. Bristol Myers Squibb retained manufacturing and supply responsibilities during the initial collaboration period, receiving royalties on sales. Reckitt Benckiser paid an upfront fee for these rights and also secured an option to fully acquire the assets, including trademarks and inventories, at a later stage.
