Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dermoplast is an over-the-counter topical anesthetic spray used for the temporary relief of pain and itching associated with minor skin irritations, insect bites, minor burns, scrapes, sunburns, and other sources of minor pain on the skin. The product contains two main active ingredients: - **Benzocaine** (a local anesthetic) works by blocking nerve signals in the body to numb the area where it is applied. - **Menthol** provides a cooling sensation that helps distract from pain and itching. Some formulations (such as Dermoplast First Aid Antibacterial Spray) also include benzethonium chloride as an antibacterial agent to help prevent infection in minor cuts and scrapes. Additional inactive ingredients may include aloe vera gel and vitamin E for moisturizing effects[1][2][8][9].
