Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**des-arg-leu-bradykinin** is a synthetic peptide analog of bradykinin, commonly written as des-Arg9-[Leu8]-bradykinin, that has been used primarily as a **selective bradykinin B1 receptor antagonist** in pharmacology research. It is not an approved therapeutic product; rather, it is a research reagent used to probe B1 receptor biology in inflammation, nociception, vascular physiology, and related kinin-system studies. As a modified bradykinin peptide lacking the C-terminal arginine and carrying a leucine substitution, it has been widely used experimentally to block signaling mediated by the inducible bradykinin B1 receptor and to distinguish B1 from B2 receptor driven effects.
