Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Desentum's cat allergy hypoallergen is a recombinant protein-based therapeutic candidate currently in preclinical development for the treatment of cat allergy. Developed using Desentum's proprietary recombinant hypoallergen platform, the product is designed for subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy (AIT). The mechanism involves the use of modified cat allergens that maintain the ability to induce T-cell-mediated immune tolerance while exhibiting significantly reduced IgE-binding capacity. This 'hypoallergenic' profile is intended to improve the safety and efficacy of desensitization compared to traditional allergen extracts by minimizing the risk of systemic allergic reactions, such as anaphylaxis, during the treatment course.
