Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Desert Harvest Aloe Vera is a concentrated dietary supplement specifically formulated to manage the symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis (IC), Bladder Pain Syndrome (BPS), and other chronic inflammatory conditions. Produced through a patented cold-process method, the supplement isolates the bioactive mucopolysaccharides (primarily acemannan) from the *Aloe barbadensis Miller* leaf while removing 100% of the anthraquinones (aloin), which are naturally occurring irritants and laxatives. The primary therapeutic rationale involves the replenishment of the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer of the bladder wall, which is often compromised in IC patients. By restoring this protective barrier, the supplement helps shield the bladder's underlying nerves and tissues from irritating solutes in the urine, thereby reducing urinary frequency, urgency, and pelvic pain.
