desonide + polymyxin B

Desonide + polymyxin B is a topical combination drug consisting of desonide, a low-potency corticosteroid, and polymyxin B, an antibiotic. Desonide acts by activating glucocorticoid receptors in the skin to reduce inflammation, redness, swelling, and itching associated with various dermatological conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. Polymyxin B is a bactericidal antibiotic that disrupts the cell membrane of susceptible Gram-negative bacteria by binding to their phospholipids, leading to cell death.
