Detroits is a combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Neutec Pharmaceutical in Turkey, specifically formulated for the management of musculoskeletal pain associated with muscle spasms. It combines dexketoprofen (as dexketoprofen trometamol), a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), with thiocolchicoside, a muscle relaxant. Dexketoprofen acts by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), which prevents the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in pain and inflammation. Thiocolchicoside provides a complementary effect by acting as a competitive antagonist at GABA-A and glycine receptors, leading to muscle relaxation. The drug is administered orally as a film-coated tablet containing 25 mg of dexketoprofen and 4 mg of thiocolchicoside, offering a dual approach to treating conditions like osteoarthritis, low back pain, and post-traumatic pain.
