Overview

Deucrictibant is a potent, selective, and orally available small molecule antagonist of the bradykinin B2 receptor. It is being developed for both on-demand and prophylactic treatment of hereditary angioedema (HAE) attacks. By blocking the interaction between bradykinin and its B2 receptor, deucrictibant prevents excessive vascular permeability that leads to swelling in HAE. The drug is under development by Pharvaris in immediate-release capsule and extended-release tablet formulations to provide rapid relief during acute attacks as well as sustained prophylaxis to prevent future episodes. Deucrictibant has also shown potential efficacy in treating angioedema due to acquired C1-inhibitor deficiency[2][3][4][6][8].
