DEVA-OV1 is a preclinical-stage oncolytic virus immunotherapy being developed by Devacell for the treatment of solid tumors. It is built upon the proprietary ONCoat™ platform, which utilizes an engineered adenovirus subtype 5 (Ad5) synthetic vector encapsulated within a nanoparticle-based shell. This technology is designed to shield the virus from neutralizing antibodies, thereby facilitating systemic intravenous delivery and allowing for repeat administration. DEVA-OV1 is engineered to selectively replicate within and induce the lysis of cancer cells (oncolysis) while simultaneously delivering immunomodulatory transgenes for Interleukin-12 (IL-12) and Interleukin-15 (IL-15). The local expression of these cytokines is intended to synergistically activate both innate and adaptive immune responses, enhancing the anti-tumor effect and promoting the establishment of long-term immunological memory to prevent cancer recurrence.
