Overview

Devextinetug (IXT-m200) is a chimeric monoclonal antibody (IgG2κ) developed by InterveXion Therapeutics for the treatment of methamphetamine use disorder and acute methamphetamine overdose. It functions as a pharmacokinetic antagonist by specifically binding to methamphetamine in the systemic circulation with high affinity and selectivity. This sequestration prevents methamphetamine from crossing the blood-brain barrier and reaching its sites of action in the central nervous system, thereby reducing its reinforcing effects and pharmacological toxicity. Devextinetug has been evaluated in multiple Phase 2 clinical trials, including the STAMPOUT and OUTLAST studies for methamphetamine use disorder and the Meth-OD study for acute overdose, demonstrating a favorable safety profile and the ability to alter the drug's volume of distribution for up to three weeks.
