Dexamethasone and prednisone are synthetic glucocorticoids that suppress immune responses, reduce inflammation, and inhibit platelet destruction in immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). Recombinant human thrombopoietin is a cytokine that stimulates megakaryocyte proliferation and differentiation, thereby increasing platelet production. The combination is not standard for any specific disease but may be considered in refractory or severe cases of ITP or other forms of thrombocytopenia where both immunosuppression and enhanced platelet production are desired[2][3][7].
