This drug combination refers to the standard induction regimen utilized in the ALL-MB 2015 (Moscow-Berlin 2015) multicenter randomized study for the treatment of pediatric and young adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Developed and sponsored by the Federal Research Institute of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology (Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Center), the therapy consists of a backbone of systemic chemotherapy including the glucocorticoid dexamethasone, the anthracycline daunorubicin, and the vinca alkaloid vincristine. This is supplemented by triple intrathecal therapy comprising methotrexate, cytarabine, and prednisone to provide central nervous system prophylaxis and treatment. The regimen is designed to rapidly reduce leukemic cell burden and achieve complete remission during the initial phase of treatment. The ALL-MB 2015 protocol evaluates this standard against experimental modifications such as intermittent dexamethasone dosing or the substitution of methylprednisolone to optimize the balance between efficacy and treatment-related toxicity.
