Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a three-drug antiemetic combination regimen used for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV), particularly in patients receiving highly emetogenic chemotherapy (HEC) such as cisplatin-based regimens. The combination has shown effectiveness in controlling both acute (0-24 hours) and delayed (24-120 hours) phases of CINV. Studies have demonstrated that 5 mg olanzapine combined with ondansetron and dexamethasone is effective at reducing CINV and may also have beneficial effects on anxiety and depression in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
