Overview
SX600 is a novel formulation of dexamethasone acetate encapsulated in biodegradable microspheres for extended-release via injectable micro-suspension. It is designed for targeted, sustained delivery of corticosteroid to the lumbosacral epidural space through transforaminal epidural injection. The primary indication under investigation is the management of radicular pain (sciatica) secondary to lumbar intervertebral disc herniation. The mechanism involves local anti-inflammatory action by sustained release of dexamethasone at the site of nerve root inflammation, aiming to provide prolonged pain relief and improved functional outcomes compared to standard corticosteroid injections. Clinical trials have demonstrated significant and durable reductions in leg pain and improvements in function with a favorable safety profile[1][2][3][6].
