Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dexeryl is a protective skin cream developed by Pierre Fabre Dermatologie, specifically formulated to treat the signs and symptoms of skin dryness (xerosis), particularly in conditions such as atopic dermatitis, ichthyosis, and psoriasis. The product functions through a synergistic combination of three active ingredients: glycerol, which acts as a humectant to attract and retain moisture within the epidermis; and white soft paraffin (vaseline) and liquid paraffin, which serve as occlusive agents. Together, these components form a physical film on the skin's surface that prevents transepidermal water loss and protects against external environmental irritants. By restoring the skin's hydrolipidic film and barrier integrity, Dexeryl effectively reduces itching, irritation, and skin tension associated with chronic dry skin disorders.
