Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aseket is a fixed-dose combination of dexketoprofen (as dexketoprofen trometamol) and paracetamol (acetaminophen). Dexketoprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that acts as a non-selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis to alleviate pain and inflammation. Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic agent that acts primarily on the central nervous system, potentially through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase activities in the brain and activation of descending serotonergic pathways. Developed by Berko İlaç, Aseket is approved in Turkey for the short-term symptomatic treatment of moderate to severe acute pain, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis, acute musculoskeletal pain, postoperative pain, and dysmenorrhea.
