dexlansoprazole + levofloxacin + amoxicillin

Dexlansoprazole + levofloxacin + amoxicillin is a triple therapy regimen evaluated by the Dow University of Health Sciences for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection, particularly in regions with high antibiotic resistance. This combination includes dexlansoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces gastric acid secretion by covalently binding to the H+/K+-ATPase pump; levofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that inhibits bacterial DNA replication by targeting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV; and amoxicillin, a beta-lactam antibiotic that disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). The regimen is typically administered over a 14-day period and was studied in the Phase 4 CURE-H. Pylori trial to compare its efficacy against other PPI-based triple therapies in the Pakistani population.
