Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Dextralink is a solution containing 0.1% riboflavin and 20% dextran, utilized in corneal cross-linking procedures. It functions as a photosensitizer, where riboflavin, upon activation by UV-A irradiation, induces the formation of cross-links within corneal collagen fibers. This process strengthens the corneal tissue, making it a treatment option for progressive corneal ectatic disorders such as pellucid marginal corneal degeneration and keratoconus.
