Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hemostabil (Гемостабил) is an approved hypertonic colloid infusion solution developed by the National Medical Research Center for Hematology and manufactured by Medpolymer. It is a fixed-dose combination of low molecular weight dextran (dextran 40, with an average molecular weight of 35,000–45,000 Da) and hypertonic sodium chloride (7.5%). Hemostabil is indicated for the initial volume resuscitation and prevention/treatment of hypovolemia and shock (including hemorrhagic, traumatic, and burn shock) associated with acute blood loss or trauma. The hypertonic sodium chloride component rapidly draws water from the interstitial space into the vascular bed, achieving a rapid increase in intravascular volume (up to 150–200% of the infused volume). The dextran 40 component then maintains this volume expansion for 3 to 4 hours by exerting colloid osmotic pressure and preventing rapid fluid filtration, while also improving microcirculation and reducing blood viscosity.
